STAFF REQUIREMENTS - MEETING WITH ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON REACTOR SAFEGUARDS On June 9, 2023, the Commission met with the Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards (ACRS) to discuss issues recently reviewed by the Committee. Members of the ACRS presented updates on the following matters: 1) the SHINE operating license application review;
- 2) NuScale Topical Report TR-0915-17772, Methodology for Establishing the Technical Basis for Plume Exposure Emergency Planning Zones at NuScale Small Modular Reactor Plant Sites; 3) draft rule language for 10 C.F.R. Part 53; and 4) the Kairos Power, LLC, Hermes construction permit application review.
The meeting, which was held in the Commissioners Hearing Room, One White Flint North, Rockville, Maryland at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time, was open to members of the public attending in person and via webcast.
The Commission identified no requirements for staff action.
