James Warden, Director, Office of Nuclear Energy, Safety & Security, Room 3320 HST Bureau of International Security
& Nonproliferation U.S. Department of State 2201 C Street, NW Washington, D.C. 20520
Dear Dir. Warden:
Enclosed is an application dated June 12, 2023, received by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) from International Isotopes Inc., requesting amendment No. 03 to its export license PXB190a.0 2. This license presently authorizes the export of Category 1 and 2 quantities of Cobalt-60 and Cesium-137 for use in teletherapy, irradiation, and calibration devices.
The purpose of the amendment is to: 1) remove Honduras and Ukraine as an Ultimate Destination; and 2) extend the date of expiration from June 30, 2023 to June 28, 20 33.
The NRC will perform an internal review. The NRC intends to issue the requested license after the 30-day time period allotted for public review has expired, and it is determined that the applicable export license criteria are met. Please feel free to reach out with any questions to Licensing Officer, Stephen Baker at Stephen.Baker@nrc.gov.
Sincerely, 6/12/2023 X Peter J. Habighorst
Peter J. Habighorst
