Planned Issuance of SHINE Technologies LLC Construction Permit Amendment No. 4 Hi Mark, The NRC staff is preparing to issue a license amendment (Amendment No. 4) related to SHINE Technologies, LLC, for its facility located in Janesville, WI. A brief description of the license amendment request (LAR) is provided below. Additional information can be found in the licensees submittal which is also referenced below by ADAMS Accession number.
Please let me know if you have any comments or questions regarding this licensing action. My current projection for issuance of the amendment is May 5, 2023.
Application date:
October 6, 2022 (ADAMS Accession No. ML22279A951), supplemented by letter dated February 17, 2023 (ML23048A244).
Brief Description of LAR:
The SHINE facility is currently under construction at the site described in the application, in the City of Janesville, Rock County, Wisconsin. The SHINE construction permit, CPMIF-001, does not authorize SHINE to receive or possess special nuclear material. The LAR proposed to add a new condition to the construction permit to allow for the receipt and possession of contained special nuclear material in the form of neutron detectors necessary for the continued construction of the SHINE facility.
