Dear Dir. Warden:
Enclosed is an application (PXB184.04) received by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), dated January 24, 2023, from Halliburton Energy Services, Inc., for a specific license to export Category 2 quantities of Americium-241, Americium-241/Beryllium, Cesium-137, Cobalt-60, and Californium-252 to India and Angola. The sealed source will be used for oil and gas well logging operations and perforating services. The purpose of this amendment is to extend the expiration date from March 31, 2023.
Since India and Angola are on the Restricted destinations list (10 CFR Part 110.29), before acting on this application, we appreciate your views, in accordance with established procedures and from the overall perspective of the Executive Branch, as to whether the requested export meets the applicable criteria in the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended.
