THREE MILE ISLAND, UNIT 2 - ISSUANCE OF EXEMPTION FROM 10 CFR 70.24 (EPID: L-2023-LLE-0003)
Dear John Sauger:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has granted the exemption from the criticality requirements of Sections 70.24 Criticality accident requirements, of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) Part 70, as requested in TMI-2 Solutions, LLC (TMI-2 Solutions) letter dated September 29, 2022, attachment 2, (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML22276A024). The exemption will eliminate the requirements for criticality monitoring that are no longer necessary at Three Mile Island Nuclear Station, Unit 2 (TMI-2).
Please find the exemption in the enclosure. A copy of the exemption will be sent to the Office of the Federal Register for publication.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390, Public inspections, exemptions, requests for withholding, of the NRCs Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records component of NRCs ADAMS. ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at https://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html.
