As requested by your letter dated January 13, 2023 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML23013A307), enclosed is Certificate of Compliance No. 9251, Revision No. 17, for the Model No. BW-2901 package. Changes made to the enclosed certificate are indicated by vertical lines in the margin. The staff's safety evaluation report is also enclosed.
The approval constitutes authority to use the package for shipment of radioactive material and for the package to be shipped in accordance with the provisions of Title 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations (49 CFR) 173.471.

SUMMARY
By letter dated January 13, 2023 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML23013A307), Framatome Inc., (or the applicant) requested renewal of the Certificate of Compliance (CoC) No. 9251 for the BW-2901 packaging.
The certificate has been updated to Revision No. 17 and renewed for 5 years.
EVALUATION The applicant did not request any changes in the package design, operating procedures, acceptance tests and maintenance program. No changes of contents of the package were also requested.
The staff reviewed the documents referenced in the CoC and determined that the package application was complete.
Condition No. 11 has been revised to extend the CoC expiration date to January 31, 2028.
CONCLUSION Based on the statements and representations in the application, the staff concludes that the package meets the requirements of 10 CFR Part 71.
