Change in U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Expected Completion Date of 06-30-2022 Waste Control Specialists Request for Superseding Order For Special Nuclear Material Date: Tuesday, December 20, 2022 2:44:00 PM
- Chris, On June 30, 2022, Waste Control Specialists (WCS) requested a Superseding Order for Special Nuclear Material (ML22200A046) from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).
In the NRC Acceptance Letter dated August 1, 2022 (ML22209A252), the NRC informed WCS that the NRC expected to complete its safety and environmental review with issuance of a Superseding Order by December 31, 2022.
Consistent with our conversation held on November 22, 2022, due to higher priority actions and some internal deliberations, the NRC now expects to issue the Superseding Order by March 31, 2023.
