ARKANSAS NUCLEAR ONE- ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF RESPONSE TO NRC
INSPECTION REPORT 05000313/2022011 AND 05000368/2022011 AND NOTICE
OF VIOLATION
Dear Joseph Sullivan:
On November 9, 2022, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) cited Entergy Operations,
Inc. for the failure to manage the effects of aging on the buried unit 1 and unit 2 service water
supply piping at Arkansas Nuclear One as required by regulatory requirements and documented
as violation 05000313,05000368/2022011-01, Failure to Perform Required Thickness
Measurements as Required by Design to Manage the Effects of Aging. The Notice of Violation,
enclosed with Inspection Report 05000313/2022011 AND 05000368/2022011 (Agencywide
Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML22301A153), required you to
respond in writing within 30 days.
We have reviewed your response (ML22342B267, dated December 8, 2022) and find that it meets
the requirements of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 2.201. We have no further
questions at this time and will review the implementation of your corrective actions during a future
inspection to determine whether full compliance has been achieved and maintained.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRC's "Agencys Rules of Practice and Procedure," a copy
of this letter will be made available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public
