The purpose of this pre-submittal meeting is to discuss details regarding the Pool Swell License Amendment Request.

Background
During the 2016 first quarter inspection period, the inspectors reviewed the operability evaluation associated with loss of coolant accident suppression pool analysis. The inspectors identified an Unresolved Item (URI 2016001-01) involving changes to the methodology and design assumptions of the suppression pool analysis. During follow-up inspection activities the inspectors determined the operability evaluation provided a reasonable expectation of operability. The URI was closed in Inspection Report 2017004 with a Green Finding and associated NCV of 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix B, Criterion III: Design Control for failure to ensure the adequacy of the design for the primary containment structure, suppression pool columns, downcomer vents and downcomer vent bracing.
The purpose of this License Amendment Request is to update the Licensing Basis to support the methodology to be used for analyzing the primary containment structure.

Calculations 187 and 187K are being revised to point to Calculation L-002547, Revision 0A during the implementation process once LAR is approved.

Precedent April 11, 2000 - The NRC Issued License Amendments 139/124 for LaSalle to approve an analogous UFSAR update concerning the methodology and acceptance criteria for masonry walls subjected to transient high energy line break pressurization loads.
