No: II-22-026 October 13, 2022 CONTACT: David Gasperson, 404-997-4417 NRC Names New Senior Resident Inspector at Harris Nuclear Power Plant Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials in Atlanta have selected Peter Boguszewski as the agencys new senior resident inspector at the Harris nuclear power plant in New Hill, North Carolina.
Boguszewski joined the NRC in 2015 as part of the agencys Nuclear Safety Professional Development Program in the NRC Region I office in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. During his seven years with the agency, Boguszewski has served as an acting resident and senior resident inspector at multiple plants, including an 8-month assignment at the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Most recently, he served as the Resident Inspector at the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station in Delta, Pennsylvania.
Peter is an excellent selection to lead our inspections at the Harris plant. He excelled in our rigorous training program and has readily accepted challenging assignments in our agency, said NRC Region II Administrator Laura Dudes. His training and dedication to our mission will serve him well as he ensures Harris continues to meet the agencys safety and security requirements.
Boguszewski holds a bachelors degree in chemical engineering from the University of Rochester. He joins NRC Resident Inspector Casey Smith at the Harris plant.
The NRC assigns at least two resident inspectors to each operating U.S. commercial nuclear power plant. They serve as the agencys eyes and ears at the facility, conducting regular inspections, monitoring plant operations, major work projects and interacting with plant workers and the public.
