[External_Sender] RE: Final stages of UCD License Renewal review Date: Tuesday, October 18, 2022 1:03:06 PM Geoffrey and Linh, I have just a few final administrative changes to be made on the tech specs.

1) Section 3.2.1 specification 2a. I think there is a double negative here and it can be read as the control rod drives are only considered operable when there is physical damage apparent and when they do not drive normally. I think it should read a. No physical damage is apparent to the rod drive assemblies and the control rod responds normally to control rod motion signals.
2) Section 3.5 specification 2 line two. exists should be replaced with exits.
3) Section 1.1 remove the part of the sentence that reads except where they reference the UCD/MNRC SAR or a specific Technical Specification. This statement does not provide any clarity on the description of the basis of the technical specifications and can be removed.
4) On page 17 the first basis that appears on this page comes right after the introductory paragraph and they are not tied to any specifications. Those the basis are correct but in the wrong spot. Section 4.1.3 starts on page 17 and goes into page 18. You will notice the specifications in this section dont have any basis after them. That is where the misplaced basis from page 17 should go.
5) Correct the spelling mistake of RESEACRH to RESEARCH on the title header of page one.
6) Change DAVIS MCCLELLAN NUCLEAR RADIATION CENTER on the title page of the tech specs to DAVIS MCCLELLAN NUCLEAR RESEARCH CENTER I declare under penalty of perjury that the foregoing is true and correct executed on October 18th, 2022.

Final stages of UCD License Renewal review Hi Wesley, we are in the final stages of the UCD LR review. Attached are draft versions of the proposed license and TSs. Please review these carefully and let us know if there are any changes needed because once we issue the renewed license, any subsequent changes will require a license amendment.

Note: no changes have been made to either the license or the TSs so far during this review. The licensee is identical to the draft that we sent to you in our RAI letter dated June 24, 2022, (ML22173A209) and the TSs are the version that you submitted to us on June 21, 2022 (ML22172A199).

If any changes are made during subsequent review, we will notify you.

Environmental Assessment The EA is heading to the Federal Register for publication. We will notify you by letter when it is published.

Let us know if we need to discuss anything, and well schedule a call.

Thanks Geoffrey Wertz, P.E.
