Dear Mr. Boyle:
TN Americas LLC, on behalf of TRANSNUCLEAR, LTD., requested the revalidation of Japanese Competent Authority Certificate J/2037/AF-96, Revision 0 for the Model MX-6P package [1] in accordance with §173.473.
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), as requested by the U.S.
Department of Transportation (DOT), reviewed the application for revalidation and requested additional information.
In support of this request for additional information (RAI), the following enclosures are provided:

TN Americas LLC requests that access to International and Foreign National Standards documents be limited to only those persons reviewing the application, withheld from being publicly available, and that all copies be deleted upon completion of the application review. provides a TRANSNUCLEAR, LTD. statement of proprietary information pursuant to 49 CFR 7.14, 49 CFR 105.30, and 10 CFR 2.390 to cover Enclosures 1 and 3. These documents contain proprietary and business sensitive information regarding the MX-6P Package.

In addition to the responses to the RAIs, the public version of the Safety Analysis Report (SAR) is being updated to reveal information that had previously been redacted, but is not considered proprietary. The projected submittal date for the revised public version of the SAR is on or before August 31, 2022.
