SUBJECT:

REQUEST FOR LIBRARY TO MAINTAIN COPIES OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT FOR THE LICENSE RENEWAL OF THE COLUMBIA FUEL FABRICATION FACILITY IN HOPKINS, SOUTH CAROLINA (DOCKET NUMBER: 70-1151)

Dear Chantal Wilson:

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has prepared a final environmental impact statement (EIS) related to its review of Westinghouse Electric Company, LLCs (WEC) application to renew its special nuclear material (SNM) license SNM-1107 to continue to operate its Columbia Fuel Fabrication Facility (CFFF) in Hopkins, South Carolina. The final EIS provides the NRC staffs evaluation of the potential environmental impacts of the proposed license renewal.

We are providing three hard copies to the Richland Library per the conversation with NRC staff on June 7, 2022. As discussed, one copy is for the Main Branch and the other two copies are for each of the Eastover and Lower Richland Branches. These are to be maintained as reference documents at the library.

The final EIS is publicly available from the NRCs Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) ML22201A131. ADAMS is accessible from the NRC website at http://www.nrc.gov/readingrm/adams.html. Additionally, the final EIS can be accessed from the NRC webpage for the WECs CFFF at https://www.nrc.gov/info-finder/fc/westinghouse-fuel-fab-fac-sc-lc.html.

We are kindly requesting that copies of the documents be kept at the library for the publics use.

C. Wilson We appreciate your willingness to assist the public in participating in the NRCs environmental review process. If you have any questions, you can contact me by telephone at 301-415-2462, or via email at Stacey.Imboden@nrc.gov.
