SUMMARY
OF MAY 19, 2022, CLOSED MEETING WITH FRAMATOME INC. AND THE U. S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION TO DISCUSS FRAMATOME TOPICAL REPORT BAW-10227P, REVISION 2, EVALUATION OF ADVANCED CLADDING AND STRUCTURAL MATERIAL (M5) IN PWR FUEL On May 19, 2022, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held a closed teleconference meeting via Microsoft Teams with representatives from Framatome Inc.
(Framatome). The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the draft safety evaluation (SE)
(Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Package Accession No. ML22035A015) for Topical Report BAW-10227P, Revision 2, Evaluation of Advanced Cladding and Structural Material (M5) in Pressurized Water Reactor Fuel. The meeting was noticed on May 6, 2022 and is available in the ADAMS at ADAMS Accession No. ML22126A118.
During the meeting, discussions between the Framatome representatives and the NRC staff focused on:
Framatomes acceptance of the draft SE limitations and conditions and Information presented in the draft SE and options for addressing concerns.
