SUBJECT:

SUMMARY

OF APRIL 26, 2022, CLOSED MEETING WITH FRAMATOME INC. AND THE U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION FOR TOPICAL REPORT, ANP-10353P, REVISON 0, INCREASED ENRICHMENT FOR PRESSURIZED WATER REACTORS On April 26, 2022, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held a closed teleconference meeting via Microsoft Teams with representatives from Framatome Inc.

(Framatome). The purpose of the meeting was for the NRC staff and Framatome representatives to discuss impacts of fuel-related parameters on Framatome ANP-10353P, Revision 0 - Increased Enrichment (IE) for PWRs, and ANP-10339P, Revision 0, ARITA -

ARTEMIS/RELAP Integrated Transient Analysis Methodology Topical Reports (TRs). The meeting notice is available in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) at Accession No. ML22098A094.

During the meeting, there were discussions between Framatome representatives and the NRC staff regarding the link between the IE TR, ANP-10353P, and the ARITA TR, ANP-10339P. The NRC staff also discussed the need to resolve the ARITA parameters because of the effect on IE. Additionally, the NRC staff discussed a path forward for the IE TR review which included a proposed May 2022 audit to further review of the parameters, and to re-baseline the review schedule after the audit. The Framatome representatives agreed with the proposed path forward to hold a virtual audit in May and the plan to re-baseline the schedule. The NRC staff will provide Framatome with an audit plan, which will include the list of the applicable parameters, at least 2-weeks prior to the planned audit date.
