SUBJECT: DAVIS-BESSE NUCLEAR POWER STATION, UNIT 1 - INFORMATION REQUEST

FOR AN NRC POST-APPROVAL SITE INSPECTION FOR LICENSE RENEWAL

05000346/2022012

Dear Mr. Brown:

On June 6, 2022, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) will begin a Post-Approval

Site Inspection for License Renewal at Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station. This inspection will

be performed in accordance with NRC Inspection Procedure 71003. This Phase 3 inspection

will focus on the station actions related to commitments not closed during the Phase 2 license

renewal inspection (05000346/2017009).

In order to minimize the inspection impact on the site and to ensure a productive inspection for

both parties, we have enclosed a request for information needed for the inspection. It is

important that all of these documents are up to date and complete in order to minimize the

number of additional documents requested during the preparation and/or the onsite portions of

the inspection. Insofar as possible, this information should be provided electronically to the lead

inspector. These documents have been divided into two groups.

The first group identifies information necessary to ensure that each inspector is adequately

prepared. The second group identifies the information that each inspector will need throughout

the inspection.

During the in-office preparation activities, the team will identify as much as possible the

information and activities to be reviewed during the inspection. This information should be

provided to the lead inspector by May 23, 2022.

The lead inspector for this inspection is Mr. J. Bozga. We understand that our licensing contact

for this inspection is Ms. G. Ellithorpe of your organization. If there are any questions about the

inspection or the material requested in the enclosure, please contact the lead inspector at

630-829-9613.
