SUMMARY
OF MARCH 16, 2022, CLOSED MEETING WITH FRAMATOME INC. AND THE U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION FOR TOPICAL REPORT, ANP-10339P, REVISON 0, ARITA - ARTEMIS/RELAP INTEGRATED TRANSIENT ANALYSIS METHODOLOGY RESPONSES TO REQUESTS FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION On March 16, 2022, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held a closed teleconference meeting via Microsoft Teams with representatives from Framatome Inc.
(Framatome). The purpose of the meeting was for the NRC staff and Framatome representatives to discuss the request for additional information (RAI) 24 and 59 responses received from Framatome on July 31, 2020 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Package Accession No. ML20237F488) regarding the Framatome Topical Report ANP-10339P, Revision 0, ARITA - ARTEMIS/RELAP Integrated Transient Analysis Methodology. The meeting notice is available in ADAMS at Accession No. ML22066B278.
During the meeting, there were discussions between Framatome representatives and the NRC staff regarding RAIs 24 and 59, related preliminary limitations and conditions, planned discussions for the next meeting on March 31, 2022, and a future 2-day in-person audit that is tentatively scheduled for April 2022. The NRC staff and Framatome representatives plan to continue the periodic RAI discussions until the end of April, at which time the NRC staff will focus on completing the Draft safety evaluation.
