OF THE FEBRUARY 2, 2022 PUBLIC MEETING ON NRCS REGULATORY READINESS FOR OVERSIGHT OF POTENTIAL LARGE-SCALE COMMERCIAL TRANSPORTATION OF SPENT NUCLEAR FUEL On February 2, 2022 a virtual public meeting was held to discuss the U.S Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff report on its review of the NRCs regulatory readiness for oversight of commercial transportation of spent nuclear fuel and the respective regulatory oversight roles of the NRC, U.S. Department of Transportation and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and to respond to questions from the meeting participants about the staff review.
