I have lived on or near the shore of Lake Michigan all my life (81 years so far) and I am very familiar with the storms, fluctuating lake levels, and the fact of millions of people and large industries relying on the Lake for water. Quite regardless of all other relevant concerns, the sheer longevity these plants if operations are extended as requested by the owner, means that aging alone will be an enormous factor. Given the fact that nuclear plants have the potential for great harm to humans and the planet when something goes wrong (numerous examples from Three Mile Island to Fukushima), extending the operation of these already middle-aged Plants to 80 years is a VERY BAD IDEA. I urge you to reject this request, in order to protect the incredible volume of fresh water in Lake Michigan/Huron.
