R.E. GINNA NUCLEAR POWER PLANT-EXEMPTION FROM THE BIENNIAL EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS EXERCISE REQUIREMENTS IN 10 CFR PART 50, APPENDIX E, SECTION IV.F.2.C (EPID L-2021-LLE-0044)
Dear Mr. Rhoades:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has approved the requested temporary exemption from specific requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR)
Part 50, Appendix E,Section IV.F.2.c for R.E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant (Ginna). This action is in response to your application dated October 6, 2021 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML21279A112), as supplemented by letter dated November 15, 2021 (ADAMS Accession No. ML21320A054), which requested a one-time exemption from the requirements in 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix E, Section IV.F.2.c, to postpone the conduct of the offsite portions of the Ginna biennial emergency preparedness (EP) exercise until a date prior to July 20, 2022.
A copy of the exemption is enclosed. The exemption has been forwarded to the Office of the Federal Register for publication.
