I have to say, I have been pondering this issue for a long time and I'm still not sure if shutting down our nuclear plants is the best option right now. What we need to do first is cut demand and put green alternatives in place. Taking nuclear out of the picture before we are able to replace our dirty coal and gas generation would not be wise in my opinion. So, I guess after all is said and done, I concur with the decision of the commission at this time. I believe that the last old-school generating facilities to be decommissioned should be the nuclear facilities. Maybe by then, we'll have fusion power.
