OFFICIAL USE ONLY - SENSITIVE UNCLASSIFIED INFORMATION November 16, 2021 Ms. Pat Jenny, Security Manager Global Laser Enrichment, LLC P.O. Box 780 3901 Castle Hayne Road Wilmington, NC 28402

SUBJECT:

GLOBAL LASER ENRICHMENT - NRC INTERIM AUTHORITY TO OPERATE CLASSIFIED NETWORK AND THE PLAN OF ACTIONS AND MILESTONES FOR CONTINUOUS MONITORING (ENTERPRISE PROJECT IDENTIFICATION NUMBER L-2021-LLL-0019)

Dear Ms. Jenny:

We have reviewed your letter dated October 8, 2021, requesting classified network reaccreditation for the Global Laser Enrichment LLC facility (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession Number ML21299A315). The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff has completed the review and determined the Interim Authority to Operate (IATO) may be issued subject to a number of conditions.

After reviewing the information provided in the authorization assessment in Enclosure 2, NRC believes that the risk to operations, assets, or individuals resulting from the continued operation of these systems under the current IATO is acceptable, contingent on the specified conditions, until May 1, 2022. The IATO extension and related conditions are provided in Enclosure 1. The authorization assessment report is provided in Enclosure 2.

In addition, the NRC staff has reviewed your letter dated September 21, 2021, containing a Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M) to modify certain aspects of your continuous monitoring reports (ADAMS Accession Number ML21300A129). The IATO also approves this POA&M.

This letter concludes work on the IATO extension request and the continuous monitoring reports POA&M. The Enterprise Project Identification Number L-2021-LLL-0019 will remain open to support future authorizing official related activities.

In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 2.390 of the NRCs Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure, a copy of this letter will be available for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from ADAMS. ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room).

This document transmits enclosures containing sensitive, unclassified information. When separated from the enclosures, this document is decontrolled.
