Request for Continuance of Global Laser Enrichment (GLE) Interim Authorization to Operate the Classified Cyber Network

Zimmerman, dated October 18, 2018, Reaccreditation of GE Hitachi Global Laser Enrichment, LLC Classified Cyber Network Global Laser Enrichment (GLE) submitted on September 21, 2021, a plan to complete the Risk Assessment of our classified cyber network (Ref 1 ).
This submission also provided a high level of planned steps to complete the transition to Revision 5 of NIST 800-53.
While this work is still ongoing and is expected to continue well into 2023, GLE is requesting a six-month continuance of our authorization to operate (IATO) the classified cyber network on an interim basis. At the end of this six-month period GLE will have a much better understanding of how long it will take to complete the required actions to transition to Rev. 5 of the NIST standard. We will submit a detailed Plan of Actions and Milestones for this completion along with our request for continuance of our IATO until all actions are completed. Our current authorization to operate (Ref. 2) is approved until October 18, 2021. Your approval of our request is needed prior to this date.
