cROP 2021Q2 Cross Cutting Issues Summary The NRC evaluates whether a cross-cutting issue exists at each reactor facility that is under construction twice a year during the second quarter and end-of-cycle performance review in accordance with IMC 2505. If the NRC determines that a cross-cutting issue exists at a given plant, the resultant assessment letter summarizes the specific cross-cutting issue and includes the necessary actions to resolve the issue. The next assessment letter will either state that the issue has been satisfactorily resolved or summarize the agency's assessment and licensee's progress in addressing the issue.

"Yes" in the matrix below indicates that the plant has an open cross-cutting issue in that area based on the most recent assessment letter. Clicking on the "Yes" will take you directly to the assessment letter that describes the issue. "Closed" in the matrix below indicates that the plant had a cross-cutting issue closed during the most recent assessment meeting. Clicking on the "Closed" will take you directly to the assessment letter that describes the issue.

On July 31, 2017, South Carolina Electric & Gas Company (SCE&G) announced that it had stopped construction of V.C. Summer Units 2 and 3, as documented in a letter dated August 17, 2017.

The NRC ceased inspection and Construction Reactor Oversight Process activities for V.C. Summer Units 2 and 3 after the July 31 announcement. This page contains information related to V.C. Summer Units 2 and 3 inspection and Construction Reactor Oversight Process activities completed prior to July 31, 2017.
