OF JULY 22, 2021 AND AUGUST 16, 2021, MEETINGS TO DISCUSS TERRESTRIAL ENERGY USAS RESPONSES TO THE JOINT CNSC/NRC POSTULATED INITIATING EVENTS AND REVISIONS TO ASSOCIATED WHITE PAPER On July 22, 2021 and August 16, 2021, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held meetings (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS)
Accession Nos. ML21200A086 and ML21218A098), to discuss Terrestrial Energy USAs responses to the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) joint questions and revised white paper associated with postulated initiating events (PIE) for the integral molten salt reactor (IMSR) design. The joint questions support CNSC and NRC memorandum of cooperation pertaining to PIE for the IMSR design. Terrestrial Energy indicated that they plan to submit a response to the joint feedback and a revision to the white paper addressing the CNSC/NRCs comments in the near future. Enclosure 1 contains the list of attendees for both meetings. The document containing the NRC staffs feedback discussed in the aforementioned meetings is in.
