Thursday, July 29, 2021 11:38:00 AM The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff has completed a Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) for the license application from Interim Storage Partners, LLC (ISP) to construct and operate a consolidated interim storage facility (CISF) for spent nuclear fuel and Greater than Class C radioactive waste in Andrews County, Texas.
The FEIS is publicly available from the NRCs Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC website at http://www.nrc.gov/readingrm/adams.html. The ADAMS accession number for the FEIS is ML21209A955. The FEIS is also accessible using the following direct link:
https://www.nrc.gov/docs/ML2120/ML21209A955.pdf. The NRC staff also will be posting a link to the FEIS on the NRC public webpage for the ISP CISF application at https://www.nrc.gov/waste/spent-fuel-storage/cis/waste-control-specialist.html.
The NRC notice of the FEISs availability is expected to appear in the Federal Register on August 6, 2021. The NRC also will be filing its FEIS electronically with the U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the EPA will notice its receipt of the FEIS in the Federal Register on August 13.
