Dear Ms. Fitch:
By letter dated June 30, 2021 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System
[ADAMS] Accession No. ML21196A038), American Centrifuge Operating, LLC (ACO), a wholly owned subsidiary of Centrus Energy Corp. (Centrus), submitted a request to amend its Materials License SNM-2011 for the American Centrifuge Plant (ACP) in Piketon Ohio by incorporating the use of digitally based items relied on for safety for its High Assay Low Enriched Uranium Demonstration program.
In conducting a detailed review of the license amendment request, we have identified technical areas where additional information is needed in order to make a determination of the adequacy of your request. The specific areas where additional information is needed are stated in the non-public enclosure to this letter.
In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 2.390 of the NRCs Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room, or from the Publicly Available Records component of the NRCs ADAMS. The ADAMS database is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html.
