ACCEPTANCE OF PROPOSED SAFEGUARDS REVIEWING OFFICIALS
Dear Mr. Peters:
This is in response to your January 8, 2021, letter submitting two individuals for U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) review and approval as Safeguards Reviewing Officials. The two individuals named in your incoming letter will be reviewing officials for Framatome Inc.
(Framatome, formerly AREVA, Inc.).
We have completed our review of your submittal. The NRC staff has determined that the individuals meet the criteria specified in NRC Order EA-07-086, Order Imposing Fingerprinting and Criminal History Records Check Requirements for Unescorted Access to Radioactive Material or Other Property, dated April 30, 2007. Therefore, the individuals named in your January 8, 2021, letter are authorized to serve as Framatome Safeguards Reviewing Officials.
Reviewing officials must maintain and protect all fingerprints and Federal Bureau of Investigation criminal history records, other related records, and are authorized to grant access to Safeguards Information, as specified in the Orders. Please note that if Framatome wishes to assign new or additional reviewing officials, the NRC must approve each individual before they can act in that position.
In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR), Section 2.390, Public inspections, exemptions, requests for withholding, of the NRCs Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure, a copy of this communication will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room, or from the NRCs Agencywide Document Access and Management System (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html.
