1.1.1 Obtain following data and determine if parameter changes occurred in conjunction with power drop:

1.1.1.1 Total core flow on NBI-FRDPR-95 has risen.

1.1.1.2 Core plate P on NBI-FRDPR-95 lowered by 6 psid or more.

1.1.1.3 Rod line lowered by 2% or more with no control rod movement.

1.1.1.4 RR pump suction temperature on indicator or recorder (RR-TI-151A, RR-TI-151B, or RR-TR-165) has risen by 5F or more.

1.1.1.5 RPV level initially rose and then returned to normal.

Standard Examinee determined from initial conditions:

Indicated total core flow on NBI-FRDPR-95 had risen ~4%

Core plate P on NBI-FRDPR-95 lowered by ~7 psid Rod line lowered by 0.5% with no control rod movement RR pump suction temperature on indicator or recorder RR-TR-165 had lowered by ~5F WR RPV level lowered Cue Notes Results SAT UNSAT

3. Procedure Step 1.1.2 Compare data obtained in Step 1.1.1 to information presented in Attachment 3 (Page 7), and determine if conditions indicate shroud crack and separation, and crack location.

Standard Examinee referred to 2.4RXPWR Attachment 3 and compared results of JPM Step 2, and determined shroud cracking and separation was not indicated based on:

Standard Examinee referred to 2.4RXPWR Attachment 4 and compared 6.LOG.601 data provided in JPM Attachment 3 to conditions listed in 2.4RXPWR Attachment 4 table, and determined displacement of JP 5/6 mixer had occurred based on:

REACTOR POWER - Dropped due to loss in core flow.

INDICATED CORE FLOW - Rose due to addition of reverse JP flow.

JET PUMP FLOW RELATIONSHIP D/P - Sound loop (A) unchanged. Affected loop (B) significant changes for Jet Pumps 5/6.

JET PUMP LOOP FLOW - Sound loop (A) rose 5%.

Affected loop (B) lowered.

RR PUMP FLOW - Affected loop (B) flow rose by 10%.

Sound loop (A) little change.

CORE PLATE P - Lower and correspond to actual core flow lowering.

RR PUMP FLOW/SPEED RATIO - > 10% of normal (Indicated by UNSAT on Jet Pump Operability data),

CNS NRC Exam 2021-6 JPM A7 Page 6 of 9 PERFORMANCE:

START TIME:

NOTE to Examiner: Operations Department expectation is that both Technical Specifications and applicable Bases are referenced when making Technical Specification calls. This will not result in failure but should be noted if both are not referenced during the performance of this JPM.

1. Procedure Step Technical Specifications LCO 3.8.1 AC Sources - Operating Standard Reviewed to TS LCO 3.8.1 AC Sources - Operating and Bases and determined DG2 must be restored operable or a shutdown statement will be entered and no special allowance for changing modes with DG2 inoperable is stated.

Cue Notes Results SAT UNSAT

2. Procedure Step NOTE above the Actions section of LCO 3.8.1 and its Bases:

Critical Step Note LCO 3.0.4.b is not applicable to DGs Bases A Note prohibits the application of LCO 3.0.4.b to an inoperable DG. There is an increased risk associated with entering a MODE or other specified' condition in the Applicability with an inoperable DG and the provisions of LCO 3.0.4.b, which allow entry into a MODE or other specified condition in the Applicability with the LCO not met after performance of a risk assessment addressing inoperable systems and components, should not be applied in this circumstance.

Standard Reviewed the NOTE and determined LCO 3.0.4b is not applicable to DG2, and therefore does not allow changing modes based on a risk evaluation.

Cue Notes Results SAT UNSAT

3. Procedure Step Technical Specifications LCO 3.0.4 Critical Step Standard Reviewed LCO 3.0.4 and Bases and determined LCO 3.0.4a does not allow mode change since LCO 3.8.1 does not permit continued operation with DG2 inoperable indefinitely and LCO 3.0.4c does not allow changing modes since no special allowance for changing modes with DG2 inoperable is stated in LCO 3.8.1.
