SUMMARY
OF JUNE 16, 2021, CLOSED MEETING WITH FRAMATOME AND THE U. S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION TO DISCUSS FRAMATOME TOPICAL REPORT BAW-10227P, REVISION 2, EVALUATION OF ADVANCED CLADDING AND STRUCTURAL MATERIAL (M5) IN PWR FUEL, REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 3 On June 16, 2021, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held a closed teleconference meeting via Microsoft Teams with representatives from Framatome Inc.
(Framatome). The purpose of the meeting was to discuss Framatome Topical Report BAW-10227P, Revision 2, Evaluation of Advanced Cladding and Structural Material (M5) in PWR [Pressurized Water Reactor] Fuel, Request for Additional Information 3 pertaining to fuel rod bow. The meeting was noticed on May 17, 2021, and is available in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML21158A236.
During the meeting, the Framatome representatives and the NRC staff discussed Framatomes information including fuel rod bow for the M5 cladding. The NRC staff and Framatome representatives planned a follow-up audit on June 24, 2021 (ADAMS Accession No. ML21172A149) for staff to review supporting data.
