inaconference call held on March 29,2021,theNRCrequested additional information tofacilitate their review.

The NRC request andDominion Energy's response areprovided below.

NR.CRegge.s.1 Please provide thefollowing datapoint parameters, as appropriate, that wereusedto generate Figures E.5.2-1 through E.5.2-4 intheFebruary 11, 2021submittal toallow the staff toperform confirmatory calculations:

  • Pressure
  • Quality
  • MassFlux(specify ifLocal orinlet)
  • ShapeFactor
  • Measured Critical HeatFlux(CHF) value
  • Predicted CHFvalue
  • Anyother parameter thatwasusedtocapture CHFforthetestpoint (e.g., FLS, FMSM,Hydraulic
Diameter, Heated Hydraulic Diameter)

M Thefollowing parameters wereusedtoplot thedatainFigures E.5.2-1 through E.5.2-4:

  • Pressure
  • Thermodynamic quality
  • MassFlux
  • Measured CHFValue
  • Predicted CHFValue Pressure values forthetestpoints aretheexit/outlet pressures foreachtestpoint in poundspersquareinchabsolute (psia).

(Mlbm/hr-ft2),

measured CHF(MBTU/hr-ft2),

andpredicted CHF(MBTU/hr-ft2) values are local conditions attheelevation atwhich CHFwasdetected during thetesting.

FLS,asdefined inBAW-10199-A, BWUCritical HeatFluxCorrelations, isafunction of theheated length and istermeda"length spacing factor."

FLSiscalculated using the Framatome proprietary constants listed inTable 3-1ofBAW-10199-A.

This termisnot anexplicit input tothe VIPRE-D code.

FMSMisadimensionless performance factor that isdependent onthegrid arrangement oftheassembly.

Thevaluefor FMSM issetto1.0forall CHFanalyses conducted inthe VIPRE-D codewith theBWU-Icorrelation.

Theshapefactor (F),

asdefined inBAW-10199-A, isafunction ofseveral variables and isusedtocompensate for non-uniform axial flux shapeeffects.

Theshapefactor is calculated using theFramatome proprietary constants listed inTable 3-1ofBAW-10199-A.Thisterrn isnotanexplicit input tothe VIPRE-D code.

The1,665testpoints inFigures E.5.2-1 throughE.5.2-4 andassociatedinformation are provided intheCommaSeparated Values (CSV)Excel file includedinAttachment 2.

Notethat agrid spacing of"0"indicates thetest pointhad variable grid spacing.
