SUMMARY
OF APRIL 1, 2021, CLOSED PRE-SUBMITTAL MEETING BETWEEN FRAMATOME INC. AND THE U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION TO DISCUSS TOPICAL REPORT APOLLO2-A AND ARTEMIS-B FOR BOILING WATER REACTORS On April 1, 2021, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held a closed teleconference meeting via Microsoft Teams with representatives from Framatome Inc.
(Framatome). The purpose of the meeting was to discuss Framatome Topical Report (TR)
APOLLO2-A and ARTEMIS-B for Boiling Water Reactors (BWRs). The meeting was noticed on March 10, 2021, and is available in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML21073A000.
During the closed meeting, the Framatome representatives and the NRC staff discussed Framatomes presentations which provided an overview of the upcoming TR submittal, including the outline, computer code changes, APOLLO2-A and ARTEMIS-B verification and validation, power distribution uncertainty, validation requirements, implementation into BWR methods, summary, and next steps for future interactions.
