Location: Webinar Category: This is an Observation Meeting. This is a meeting in which attendees will have an opportunity to observe the NRC performing its regulatory function or discussing regulatory issues. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions of the NRC staff or make comments about the issues discussed following the business portion of the meeting; however, the NRC is not actively soliciting comments towards regulatory decisions at this meeting.

Purpose:

The purpose of this meeting is for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff to continue the dialogue on the recommendations contained in the Nuclear Energy Institutes (NEIs) white paper related to Spent Fuel Performance Margins, dated November 8, 2019 (Agency wide Documents Access and Management System [ADAMS] Accession No. ML19318D971). In particular, the April 13, 2021, workshop will focus on discussions pertaining to criticality recommendations, process walk-through related to spent fuel storage application review risk tool, and details of the graded approach, among NRC staff, NEI, and industry as previously discussed on December 17, 2020.
