Purpose of Meeting PSEG Nuclear plan to use Lokring pipe coupling technology per ASME Code Case N-879 Requires adoption of associated Code Cases N-878 and N-880 for QA/Procurement requirements tied to use of Lokrings This meeting seeks to gather NRC staff feedback on proposed approach to Relief Requests Referencing EPRI reports on use of sleeve coupled fittings Referencing prior approved and revised Relief Requests Discuss timing of Relief Request relative to update to Reg.

Guide 1.84 and Reg. Guide 1.147 to incorporate subject Code Cases 3

Relief Requests to Adopt Code Cases N-878, 879 and 880 Salem and Hope Creek Stations targeting the use of Lokring pipe couplings to support anticipated piping work Reduction of time and dose associated with piping repairs N-879 Code Case not applicable to Salem - B31.1 plant PSEG request limited to 2 Class 2 and 3 piping Requires associated Code Cases N-878 and N-880 for QA/Procurement requirements tied to use of Lokrings PSEG will reference supporting EPRI Technical Reports on use of Lokring technology 3002018435 - WRTC* : Implementation Guide for Use of Sleeve Coupled Proprietary Fittings, Considerations for Piping Repair or Installation with Mechanical Fittings - 2020 3002015848 - WRTC* : Evaluation of Small Bore Mechanical Fittings, High Cycle Fatigue Testing - 2019

Relief Requests to Adopt Code Cases N-878, 879 and 880 Previous Relief Requests submitted included proprietary design and test documentation Documentation is considered by PSEG to be generic to the technology and is non site-specific PSEG request will reference prior submitted proprietary documentation as well as EPRI reports in lieu of resubmittal.

PSEG Relief Requests for N-878 and N-880 will incorporate recent licensee revisions Extend applicability of relief requests to include carbon steel applications RAI responses to date will be incorporated into PSEG Relief Requests 5

Timing of Relief Requests to Adopt Code Cases N-878, 879 and 880 Timing of approval of Relief Requests PSEG plans on submitting Relief Requests in March of 2021 Desired to be available for use in 2022 Timing of NRC approval in close proximity to issuance of revised Reg. Guides Submittal contingent on current rulemaking schedule 6
