SUMMARY
REPORT FOR THE REVIEW AND UPDATE OF THE GENERIC ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT FOR LICENSE RENEWAL OF NUCLEAR PLANTS (NUREG-1437)
On August 4, 2020, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff issued a notice of intent to review and update the Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear Plants (NUREG-1437) in the Federal Register (85 FR 47252). The NRC staff conducted 4 public scoping meetings on August 19 and 27, 2020, to solicit public comments. The NRC staff also collected comments from the public via e-mail and regulations.gov.
The NRC staff reviewed the transcripts from the public meetings and all comments received during the public scoping period and identified individual comments. The NRC staff has prepared the enclosed Scoping Summary Report that summarizes the comments received during the public scoping period.
