VERIFICATION LETTER OF THE APPROVAL VERSION OF ARGONNE NATIONAL LABORATORY ANL/NE-16/17-NP-A, QUALITY ASSURANCE PROGRAM PLAN FOR SODIUM FAST REACTOR METALLIC FUEL DATA QUALIFICATION
Dear Dr. Hill:
By letter dated September 9, 2020 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML20302A435), Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) submitted an approval version (-A) of the ANL/NE-16/17-NP-A, Quality Assurance Program Plan for Sodium Fast Reactor Metallic Fuel Data Qualification, to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff. ANL has done so in accordance with our letter dated June 10, 2020 (ADAMS Accession No. ML20147A468), transmitting the NRC staffs confirmation of ANL/NE-16/17-NP as the acceptable version. The final safety evaluation for the topical report was provided to you on April 29, 2020 (ADAMS Accession No. ML20106F242).
The NRC staff has completed its review of the approval version of the topical report. The NRC staff verified that ANL has met the requirements and determined that the submitted -A version is acceptable for referencing in licensing applications for nuclear power plants to the extent specified and under the limitations delineated in the accepted version of the topical report. The
-A version, ANL/NE-16/17-NP-A, Quality Assurance Program Plan for Sodium Fast Reactor Metallic Fuel Data Qualification, is now approved for use in future licensing actions.
