Enclosed is an application received by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), dated January 24, 2020, from Source Production & Equipment Co., Inc., for a specific license (PXB233.00) to export Category 2 quantities of Cobalt-60, lridium-192, Selenium-75 and Ytterbium-169 to Pakistan. The sealed source will be used for industrial and medical radiography.
Since Pakistan is on the restricted destinations list (10 CFR Part 110.29), before taking action on this new request, we would appreciate your views, in accordance with established procedures and from the overall perspective of the Executive Branch, as to whether the requested export meets the applicable criteria in the atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended.
