EXEMPTION FROM TITLE 10 OF THE CODE OFFEDERAL REGULATIONS PART 20, APPENDIX G, SECTION III.E (EPID NO. L-2020-LLE-0142)
Dear Mr. Bates:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has granted Southern California Edison (SCE) the enclosed exemption from the requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 20, Appendix G,Section III.E, for investigating, tracing and reporting shipments of low-level radioactive wastes where receipt is not acknowledged by the recipient within 20 days after transfer to the shipper. The exemption extends the receipt acknowledgment period from 20 days to 45 days before SCE will have to investigate, trace and report on the status of a low-level radioactive waste shipment being transported from San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS), Unit Nos. 1, 2 and 3 to a licensed low-level radioactive waste processing or land disposal facility.
