Permanent Shutdown Permanent Defuel End of Zirc-Fire Period*
Byron Units 1 and 2 On or before September 30, 2021 September-October 2021 January 2023 Dresden Units 2 and 3 On or before November 30, 2021 November-December 2021 September 2022 Zirc-Fire period will be determined by analysis, estimated for submittal purposes to be 10-months for Dresden (BWR) and 16-months for Byron (PWR)
Overall goal is to provide for a safe and efficient transition from an operating site to a permanently shutdown site Licensing submittals based on:
Review of regulations and guidance documents Review of Industry guidance documents (NEI Guidance)
