The information presented is as initially received without verification or evaluation and is basically all that is known by IE staff on this date.

CURTAILMENT OF PRODUCTION OF FFTF FUEL The production of FFTP fuel pins will be at least partially curtailed during the week beginning July 26, 1976. The licensee has processed all the plutonium oxide received from Atlantic Richfield Hanford Company in i
June, 1976. No more plutonium oxide feed will be available for at least
\\
6 weeks after the HAMTC union strike of ARECO facilities is settled and employees return to work.
Production of FFTF fuel pins may be completely curtailed during the week beginning July 26, 1976. The supply of unloaded fuel pins on hand at the Plutonium Facility for loading with fuel pellets may not be accept-able for use, and the licensee has been ordered not to load the pins until instructed further by the customer, Westinghouse Hanford Company.
At this time, the licensee does not anticipate layoff of personnel due to this curtailment of operations.
Provisions for safeguarding of special nuclear material not in process are being provided by the i
licensee.

Region I, NRC, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania received notification of this information during a meeting with licensee at 11:00 a.m. on July 22.
