The information presented is as initially received without verification or evaluation and is basically all that is known by IE staff on this date.

Subject:
INDUSTRIAL ACCIDENT RESULTING IN DEATH OF CONTRACTOR EMPLOYEE Licensee reported a contractor employee (laborer) fell fifty feet while riding a crane hook in the radwaste building.
The accident occurred at 5 a.m. on May 5.
The employee was taken by ambulance to Delta, Pa. and from there by State Police Helicopter to a
a hospital in Baltimore He died at 8 a.m.
The licensee is conducting an investigation of the accident.
There was no radioactivity involved in the accident.
Media interest is expected. The State of Pa. and OSHA have been informed. A press release is not planned by Region I, Philadelphia.
A press release is being considered by the licensee.
Region 1, NRC Philadelphia, Pa. received notification of this occur-rence by telephone from Assistant. Plant Superintendent at 10:30 a.m.
