CLADDING CRACK INDICATIONS ON FEEDWATER N0ZZLES While shutdown for a routine refueling outage, dye penetrant testing on i

six feedwater nozzles revealed 120 crack indications. The largest crack  !

i is ils inches long the remainder are less than 3/4 inches long. The 90 degree feedwater nozzle was found to have the most indications, thirty nine. The 13censee's contractor, Southwest Research Institute, is scheduled to perform additional nondestructive UT examination of the nozzles, Rspairs will be performed later in the refueling outage.

Media interest is not expected. The State of Pennsylvania has been

, informed. A press release is not planned.

Region I, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania received notification of this occurrence by telephone from the station superintendent at 2:30 p.m.
