The information-presented is as initially received without verification or evaluation and is basically all that is known by OIE staff as of 4:00 P.M. on date of this notification.

Millstone Point 1 and 2 (DNs 50-245 and 50-336)

Subjects UNPLANNED RELEASE AND GROUND LEVEL CONTAMINATION i

Our Region 1 Office, was informed by telephone that Millstone 1, operating at 100% power, tripped off line because of a problem in their output transformer.

Apparently, the power surge caused unit 2 to trip.

Unit 2 was operating at 80% power. There are no problems associated with unit 2.
