presented is as initially received without verification or evaluation and is basically all that is known by OIE staff as of 4:30 P.M. on date of this notification.

RADIOACTIVITY LEVELS IN THE ENVIRONMENT (See PNO-76-05 & PN-75-136)
I Oyster samples collected on October 13, 1975 within 500 feet of the Millstone Point discharge exhibited concentrations greater than 10 times the concentrations observed at the control station.
The concentrations are approximately the same as values previously reported by the licensee in routine Environmental Reports. However due to the special reporting requirements in Millstone l's recently effective Environmental Technical Specifications, a formal Non-Routine 10 day Report, after con-firmatory analysis, is now required for this situation.

that this issue will receive attention when the annual report is submitted on or about April 1976 because of media, local, state and Congressional y{
interest. The State of Connecticut has been informed. A press release is not planned.
Region I, NRC, Philadelphia, Pa. received notification of this occurrence by letter from Northeast Nuclear Energy Company on 3/3/76.
