On 2/25/77, an article titled "My Mission to get Near N-Plant Went l Unchallenged," appeared in the Miami News. The article states that )

following NRC's announcement that security measures would be increased gt nuclear facilities, two news reporters decided that this was a good time to check guard alertness at Turkey Pofut. They boated up to the sea wall and tied up in the barge canal, a non-security area used for air-sea rescue training activities and delivery of crude oil

Region II was notified by FP&L by telephone on 2/28/77.
