BOMB THREAT On August 4,1978, at approximately 3:45 p.m. a telephone call was received l at the Beaver Valley Power Station welding shop. The call was made by an !
unidentified person, who asked for a welder by name and then stated "a bomb '
is in the power house" and hung up. The call did not go through the site switchboard, therefore, it is assumed that the caller used the company phone system (PAX). The site was not evacuated and only a cursory search was conducted. The LLEA and FBI were being advised.
This PN is issued for information only and no further action by IE is anticipated.
Media interest is expected because of constant interest in the nuclear jl industry. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has been informed. A press 4 release is not planned by the licensee nor NRC.
