Subject:

FORCED OUTAGE DUE TO EXCESSIVE REACTOR COOLANT SYSTEM LEAKAGE During the afternoon of January 22, 1978, unidentified Reactor Coolant System leakage was determined to be about 2 gpm, which exceeded the allowable 1.0 gpm Technical Specification limit.

was found on a pressurizer spray valve and a pressurizer instrumentation root stop valve.

However, this leakage could not be quantitatively measured I

and the plant was shut down at 10:26 p.m.
