Subject:
UNPLANNED FACILITY SHUTDOWN At 1:46 a.m., January ll,1978, an orderly unit shutdown was made because of debris accumulation and icing of the circulating water intake screens.
The inability to maintain condenser vacuum because of icing necessitated the shutdown.
Early in the afternoon of January ll, 1978, the screens had been cleaned and de-iced and preparations were being made for startup. At this time a leak was found in the bonnet gasket of a check valve in the line from a safety injection FW accumulator tank.

The unit is being maintained in the cold shutdown condition while the gasket is being replaced.
It is expected that the unit will be back at power on Sunday, January 15, 1978.
