PLANT SHUTDOWN FROM STORM As a result of the winter storm February 6,1978, the power transmission lines which connect the plant to the power grid were lost because of icing conditions.  :

The plant was shutdown at 7:00 p.m. February 6,1978. Power for safety related systems is presently being supplied by the diesel generators.

No safety problems exist and the plant will remain on its diesel generators until offsite power lines are restored. No estimate of time for this

restoration has been established. No operating problems are anticipated. P A press release is anticipated, by the licensee. The State of Massachusetts /

( bas been informed. Media interest is expected because of power shortages experienced in the Northeast as a result of the snow storm. /
