This preliminary notification constitutes EARLY notice of an event or POSSIBLE safety or public interest significance.
The information presented is as initially received without verification or evaluation a_nd is basically all that is known by IE staff on this date.

Subject:
PLANT SHUTDOWN FROM STORM As a result of the winter storm February 6,1978, the power transmission lines which connect the plant to the power grid were lost because of icing conditions.
The plant was shutdown at 7:00 p.m. February 6,1978.
Power for safety related systems is presently being supplied by the diesel generators.
No safety problems exist and the plant will remain on its diesel generators until offsite power lines are restored.
No estimate of time for this

No operating problems are anticipated.
A press release is anticipated, by the licensee.
