10 CFR 140.6 Report, Joe and Ellen Kennedy Suit The above referenced letter notified the NRC af a claim involving alleged personal injury arising out of, or in connection with, the use of radioactive material at the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS), Units 1, 2, and 3.
Although not required by the 10CFR140, this letter provides the conclusion of that case.
OnMarch6,1998,after22daysoftrialtestimonyand3-1/2hoursof deliberation, a nine-member jury of the United States District Court, Southern District of California, returned a unanimous verdict in favor of both Defendants, Southern California' Edison and Combustion Engineering.
